Exterior storage

What does an Agency 6 rear locker add?

A tire gauge, a short air hose and a pair of work gloves don’t take up much space, but they’re easy to bury under camping gear. An Agency 6 Sprinter Lock Box makes space for small items behind the rear wheel, where you can reach them from outside without unloading the cargo area. The photos show the closed door, the storage opening and the accessory panel on this installation.

Think about the largest item you want to carry. Check that it fits through the door opening as well as inside the cavity, especially if it’s a rigid tool or a coiled hose with bulky fittings.

Fitment

Which kit fits a 144- or 170-inch Sprinter?

Agency 6 lists two wheelbase-specific kits for 2019 and newer Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VS30 vans. The 144-inch kit provides two storage areas, and the 170-inch kit provides four. Both product listings describe powder-coated aluminum panels and hardware for the left and right sides.

Confirm the kit against your wheelbase and show us what’s already fitted near the rear corners. On camper builds, plumbing, wiring or other accessories can occupy the same space the locker needs. A VIN, the kit part number and a photo of each lower rear quarter help us review your setup.

From the workshop

What happens before we cut the rear panels?

  1. Inspect both sides. Check the proposed openings and look behind the panels for wiring, plumbing and other obstructions. Check that the door has room to swing open.
  2. Verify the layout. Match the hardware and template to the van and kit. Agree on the placement before making the permanent openings.
  3. Fit and check the doors. Check the cut edges and mounting surfaces, then verify that the door swings freely and the lock engages cleanly.
